Joan McLachlan is a principal of Internship Quest, LLP, an educational consulting and publishing firm specializing in career internship program development, staff training and development workshops, and seminars.

Joan's work with internships began over twenty years ago when she served as Project Director and primary trainer for the USDOE National Diffusion Network
City-As-School High School Replication Project in New York City.

As project director and trainer, she designed training materials, conducted numerous replication trainings and presentations nationwide and directed a team of trainers in replicating the validated internship/ alternative school model across the country. She has also worked with the New York City Board of Education both as the Project Director and Grant Writer for the City-As-School School-to-Work and Career Pathways Pilot Projects.

Patricia Hess, Associate Director, currently teaches at Charlton Business School, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and has wide experience in the field of corporate learning and development.

As Associate Director with Internship Quest Patricia's focus is on the development of work-based skills and competencies. She develops seminars and learning experiences to help students learn the behaviors, soft skills and positive work attitudes and habits needed for successful employment.


Patricia's background includes both teaching and international HR management. She has worked with many companies in management development and executive education. She taught for 10 years with New York City Board of Education working in alternative education programs.
